WAO Annual Convention 2023 Recap
Our first annual Women Helping Women Convention took place on March 5th In the Great Hall of Hart House, at the University of Toronto. The aim was to provide attendees with exposure to women’s organizations that can support them and their future as well as make them aware of small female-owned businesses In the GTA that can benefit from their support. With an educational and entertainment proportion including two keynote speakers and several female-identifying performers throughout the afternoon. The event’s goal was to fundraise for Clan Mothers Healing Village, a Canadian, Indigenous organization that supports survivors of sexual assault, trauma and trafficking through traditional Indigenous methods.
2023 Convention Attendance in numbers:
- 15 vendors including Yound Women in Law, Young Women in Business, UofMEG, Inheyl Candle Co and more!
- 2 Keynote Speaker:
- Ifeoma Esonune, an award-winning female empowerment coach & Dilys D’Cruz, a prominent financial executive and women’s advocate
- 2 female-identifying singers and songwriters, Caardia and Jasy
- And 100+ attendees!!
2023 Convention Fundraise in numbers:
- 100% of the proceeds obtained through ticket sales, donations, and raffle entries were donated to Clan Mother’s Healing Village!
- $1300 (CAD) in total was raised for Clan Mother’s Healing Village
